MOPS & MOMSnest Kick-Off Meeting

Wow! What a great kick-off meeting as we found ourselves back in room 208 ready for another fun year and a brand-new theme. The bright, fun colors welcomed new and returning moms. The energy and excitement could be felt the moment the moms entered the room. Our morning started with HOT coffee and HOT breakfast…no wonder the moms were so happy! 

The leadership team had fun introducing themselves to the group with a fun walk down the aisle telling the group a little bit about themselves. Yvette let us know that “she has the perfect recipe for cold coffee... Have kids. Make coffee. Forget you made coffee. Have it cold.” Mentor Mom Linda strutted her stuff by letting us know that “she doesn’t want to sleep like a baby, she wants to sleep like her husband.”

The leadership team also did a presentation showing that even though there were many parenting styles represented in the room, we all have a common goal.... To be the best moms we can be to our children. There is not one better way than another, bottom line, we are ALL good moms! We ALL mother better together- leaning on God's help!

Later we watched a short video clip where Mandy Arioto, the CEO of MOPS International, gave us some great advice as well as left us with a challenge as we begin this next MOPS year. Her challenge was to go out and be intentional about having more fun. It is so easy to get caught up in the daily duties of being a wife, mom, employee, house cleaner,  chauffeur, etc., but in the midst of the daily grind we have been challenged to pause and HAVE FUN! And on those days that you don’t feel like having fun or it is out of your comfort zone, DO IT ANYWAY!!!

The meeting ended with meaningful conversations at each of the tables where moms related to the things that Mandy spoke about and also made connections with other moms. New friendships were made and each mom left with a smile on her face.  

We are in for a special treat this year. What an awesome start to our MOPS/ MOMSnext year. This is our year to live TO THE FULL where we will HAVE MORE FUN, FEAR LESS, and FIND OUR PEOPLE!
